There’s a banner image posted on Counterparts that has everyone speculating if it is “real” or not. Here’s my $0.02…
As someone who paid very close attention to his typography during ten years in the graphics field, the kerning between the “R” and the “U” is not balanced. Same applies for the space between the two “R”s in the title.
If this is official, then it’s quite sloppy and could not be the work of Hugh Syme. It just couldn’t be. Maybe they took some of the actual imagery and some low level designer just typed some “cool” text over it to make a quickie banner.
My gut tells me this is not official, but that’s just me. The “Rush” logo type is too important to not be given the proper attention and that’s what’s making me doubt it.
