Anyhow… We all know that Geddy is a huge baseball fan but this article about his donation of signed baseballs to the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum shows how much he cares not only for the game but its history as well.

Low key and unassuming as ever — you gotta love him.

Interview with Geddy Lee done by the National Post, titled “Rush Unhurried”:

“While there are no suites a la 2112 or fantasy epics like By-Tor and the Snow Dog on Snakes and Arrows, many of the songs recall 1978’s Hemispheres in using unexpected, angular chord changes. Coupled with Raskulinecz’s hard-edged production, this makes for edgy material, indeed.”

“In addition to fantasy and following the Jays, Geddy has a museum-quality baseball memorabilia collection. He collects autographed baseballs and has recently gotten into collecting game-used items. Baseballs signed by Babe Ruth, Ty Cobb, Christy Mathewson, Honus Wagner and Cy Young are just a few of his prized possessions.”

Yeah, I’d definitely say that’s “museum-quality”.

“It’s hard to describe,” said Lee. “It’s big, it’s bold, and I think it’s some of the best work we’ve done in years. I’m really pleased with the quality of the songs, and there’s lots of playing on it.”
